Bonjour Paris!
After an amazing stay in Shannon, Ireland at the Adare Manor, our discovery of the world continues with our next stop - Paris, France!
Departing out of Shannon was a non-event, and although mention of ATC strikes in France were slated throughout the week, we managed to choose the one day that they were working in full force! No delays on our way to Le Bourget Airport.

We have arrived to the land of delicious pastries, breads and everything decadent! Bring on the yummies.
Our home away from home while in Paris is the magnificent Plaza Athenee Hotel. Located on the luxurious Avenue Montaigne, we are merely steps away from the Champs Elysee and the Eiffel Tower

Our dinner this evening is a short walk from the hotel to the delicious Chez Francis Bistro. Overlooking the Eiffel Tower and the Alma Bridge, we received the perfect welcome to the city of love with the Eiffel Tower's glistening lights on the hour.

Back to the airport for our next flight to Dijon, France. ATC is on strike again so we are praying for only minimal delays - wish us luck!

Until next time Le Bourget!

The Terrace of Chez Francis
Although many had already visited Paris previously, we set out on a half day guided city tour. With so much to see and so little time, we jam packed the afternoon with all the main highlights of the city.
What is Paris without a visit to Notre Dame?
Tourists will be tourists
We celebrated the exciting flights behind us and upcoming on our Around the World flight with a degustation menu at the one Michelin starred Jules Verne Restaurant, located on the second tier of the Eiffel Tour. Named after the famous author of Around the World in 80 Days - it is the perfect location!

Our second full day in Paris was free for everyone to explore on their own - some opted for a visit of Le Bourget Air Musem, others chose a cooking class, while others decided to shop til they drop!

Our day ended with our usual pilot briefing to review tomorrow's flight. We are headed to Sicily with a lunch stop in Dijon for the TBMOPA Europe Convention which just so happened to be going on at the same time and with this being an all TBM fleet - we couldn't miss it!
Thierry joined us for dinner at Jules Verne to celebrate the accomplishment of our Transatlantic flight but more importantly to celebrate our upcoming flying adventure - Around the World in 70 days!
Don and Cathy looking sharp!
Mid-dinner we all snuck out to the outside viewing deck to take in the sights. Our timing was perfect as the sun's setting light shined a pink hue over the city.
By the time our 6 course delicious meal was done, the sun had set and we were surrounded by the Eiffel Tower's magnificent yellow tint.
